Basic Meatloaf Recipe
should be found in every kitchen. There is nothing more comforting than juicy slices of ground beef served with your favorite side dish. Save time and money by doubling this basic meatloaf recipe, separate the meat in half. Serve one loaf tonight and freeze the other loaf for use another day. (Defrost in the fridge for 24 hours prior to baking)
Classic American Meatloaf
Serves 4-6
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried or 2 tablespoons
fresh parsley
1 teaspoon oregano
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix together everything except the ketchup. On a baking pan, form the meat in to a loaf or place in a loaf pan if you prefer. Either choice, use non stick spray on the pan.
Place ketchup spread on to top of meatloaf.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for approximately 50-60 minutes. Rest the meatloaf for 10 minutes prior to cutting.
