Blue Cheese Hamburger Just Like the Parisian Bistro's Prepare!!!

Blue Cheese Hamburger
meal and impress guests with a fantastic hamburger that will be remembered for years. I am often requested to make these burgers all times of the year.
Blue Cheese Bistro Burger
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 shallots, peeled and diced
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon thyme
Pinch salt and pepper to taste for shallots
4 kaiser roll, split
4 slices blue cheese(about 1/4" thick)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 tablespoons canola oil (divided)
1 cup loosely packed arugula
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Pinch salt and pepper for arugula
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper together but do not overwork. Form in to 4 patties and place an indentation in the top center of each patty.
Heat a sauté pan to medium low heat and add 1 tablespoon canola oil. Add the shallots and thyme and allow to soften over about 15-20 minutes. Reduce heat if the shallots begin to brown. Add the sugar and stir well. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Remove shallots and set aside.
Place Kaiser rolls on baking sheet and place a slice of blue cheese to inside bottom of roll. Heat rolls in oven on medium heat until blue cheese begins to soften( approximately 5 minutes)Remove from oven.
Mix Dijon mustard and mayonnaise together. Spread mixture onto inside top of Kaiser roll.
Mix olive oil and 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar together. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix vinagrette into arugula.
Heat the frying pan to medium high and add 1 tablespoon canola oil. Place burgers in frying pan and cook 3-4 minutes on first side. Flip and cook another 3 minutes until medium rare or desired doneness. These burgers can also be grilled.
Place burger in Kaiser rolls on top of blue cheese. Top with shallots and arugula.
