Short Cut Swedish Meatballs
Serves a crowd as an appetizer, 10-15
INGREDIENTS
1 (24 ounce, about 64 meatballs) package
frozen Italian style cocktail meatballs
or
2 (12 ounce) package frozen Italian style
meatballs
Swedish Meatball Sauce
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups low sodium beef broth
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup sour cream
DIRECTIONS
Defrost the meatballs according to package directions.
Heat the butter over low medium heat until melted. Stir in flour until well mixed. Slowly add broth, stirring constantly until the consistency of gravy. Add dill, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Turn the heat to medium and add the defrosted meatballs and cook until meatballs are heated through. (7-8 minutes)
Stir in sour cream and mix well until heated through. (only 2 minutes)
