This Classic Stuffed Green Pepper Recipe is a very easy and simple meal to make. With lots of nutrients from the peppers, this stuffd green pepper recipe is one my family favorites.

1/2 cup uncooked white rice
4-5 large green peppers, tops
removed and seeded
1 Pound Seasoned Ground Beef Mix
Click link above for recipe
1(14 1/2 ounce) can tomato sauce
(reserve 2 tablespoons for topping)
1 tablespoon Worchester sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon thyme
2 teaspoons dried parsley or 2 tablespoons
fresh (chopped)
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Boil the rice and cook on low heat for approximately 20 minutes or as per package directions.

Prepare the 1 Pound Seasoned Ground Beef Mix . Click link for recipe (If preparing this meat mixture ahead of time, store in the fridge for up to two days or in the freezer for up to 2 months until ready to use. Warm the meat on low in either the microwave or stove top prior to using in this recipe)

Add the Worchester sauce, garlic powder, italian seasoning, oregano, thyme, and parsley. Stir the seasonings well in to the meat mixture. Add all but 2 tablespoons tomato reserving the remaining sauce for the topping. Add the rice and mix well. Taste for salt and pepper and add per your taste.

Place green peppers on baking sheet and stuff each pepper with the beef and rice mixture.

Mix the remaining tomato sauce and ketchup together and top each pepper with the sauce mixture. Top each pepper with the cheese.

Bake the peppers covered with foil for 45 minutes. (keep the foil from touching the cheese or it will pull the cheese right off.) Bake the pepper uncovered for approximately 10-15 more minutes or until peppers are soft.
