Grilled Vidalia Onion Burger Has A Sweet Onion Flavor!!!
This Grilled Vidalia Onion Burger has all of the classic flavors of a perfectly grilled burger with the contrast of the sweet Vidalia onion. The onion is grilled with a brushing of olive oil and vinegar which brings out the flavor of this tasty onion.
Grilled Vidalia Onion Burger
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
Dash worchester sauce
8 (1/2- thick) strips cooked bacon
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 hamburger rolls
Ketchup
Grilled Vidalia Onions (recipe follows)
DIRECTIONS
Heat the grill to medium high. Mix together the ground meat, worchester sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper together but do not overwork. Form in to 4 patties and place an indentation in the top center of each patty. Set aside and begin Grilled Vidalia Onions.(see below)
Place burgers on the hot grill after onions have been placed on the grill. Cook burgers for about 3-4 minutes and flip. Cook another 2-3 minutes for medium rare. Add cheese i minute prior to removing burger. Remove from heat and place burger in hamburger roll. Top with cooked bacon, cooked onions and ketchup.
Grilled Vidalia Onions
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
1 large Vidalia onion, sliced 1/4-inch thick slices
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
Salt and ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Mix olive oil and vinegar together. Brush oil and vinegar mix onto both sides of the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Grill the onion slices for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
