Best Ever Copycat White Castle Hamburger Recipe!
In one inevitable that I would not develop a copycat
White Castle Hamburger
. I grew up eating these White Caste Slyders and have the best memories of chowing down on these with family and friends. I searched high and low for recipes and this White Castle Burger combines many great flavors and tastes from several different recipes from those who have attempted to recreate a classic White Castle Slyder.
Copycat White Castle Burgers
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 medium size onion, chopped
24 small square dinner rolls
1/2 cup mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
American cheese (optional)
pickle (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Mix meat, soup mix, egg, water, pepper and breadcrumbs together.
Spread out the onions on to the bottom of a non stick 9 x 12 baking pan. Press meat into the onions, Prick the meat with a folk. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Drain off juices and allow to rest 5-10 minutes prior to cutting. Cut into 24 squares.
Combine mustard and ketchup and spread on inside top of rolls.
When removing individual patties, use a spatula so that the onions come out with each patty. Place meat patties on dinner rolls. Top with cheese if desired.(cut cheese to fit in burger)
Top burgers with pickles.
